Hormonal Regulation

Feeling like yourself again may also be possible

When intimate life changes—less desire, less satisfaction, or the feeling that “something is no longer the same”—it does not only affect sexuality; it also impacts self-esteem and the relationship. Nguyen Thanh and collaborators published a phase I/IIa clinical trial in Stem Cell Reviews and Reports (2021), with a 12-month follow-up in 31 people with decreased sexual activity, evaluating intravenous infusion of autologous mesenchymal cells derived from adipose tissue at a dose of 1 million cells per kilogram of body weight. No severe adverse events were reported in the study and, after treatment, all participants reported a better perception of their sexual satisfaction. In men, testosterone levels also increased shortly after the procedure and remained elevated for up to 6 months, before declining again by month 12. In women, no significant changes were observed in AMH, FSH, or estradiol.

In this study, treatment was associated with a perceived improvement in sexual life and with temporary hormonal changes in men. If this issue is affecting your well-being today, it may be a good time to review with a specialist whether this alternative makes sense for you.

Erectile Dysfunction

8 out of 11 men were able to resume sexual intercourse

In this phase I clinical trial (17 men with erectile dysfunction after radical prostatectomy), a single intracavernosal injection of autologous regenerative cells derived from adipose tissue was reported as well tolerated, with minor events at one month (related to liposuction and injection) and no serious events during the 6-month follow-up. During the study period, 8 of 17 participants recovered erectile function with the ability to complete intercourse.

When erectile dysfunction appears after radical prostatectomy, it does not only change intimacy: it can also affect confidence, the relationship, and quality of life. Haahr and collaborators published an open-label clinical trial in eBioMedicine (2016) in 17 men with erectile dysfunction after radical prostatectomy who had not responded to conventional treatments.

The study evaluated a single intracavernosal injection of autologous regenerative cells derived from adipose tissue, freshly obtained after liposuction. The procedure was well tolerated: only minor discomfort related to the liposuction or injection was reported during the first month, and no new events appeared in later follow-up visits.

At 6 months, 8 of 17 patients recovered erectile function with the ability to have sexual intercourse. In the group of continent men, 8 of 11 showed significant improvement in the IIEF-5 score, with a median increase from 7 to 17; in contrast, no recovery was observed in patients with incontinence. In simple terms, this study showed an encouraging signal, especially in continent men, because several regained useful sexual function after treatment.

If you are going through this situation, it is worth reviewing it with a specialist to see whether something like this could make sense for you.

Your sexual life also deserves more complete care; at Biocelk® we help you explore that possibility.

Female Sexual Health

Vulvovaginal Dryness

Less pain, more comfort, and a better intimate quality of life

When burning, itching, dryness, pain during intercourse, or the sensation of “fragile skin” in the vulvar area become part of your daily life, it is understandable to feel frustrated, especially if standard treatments have not provided complete relief. Onesti and collaborators published a study in Stem Cells International (2016) in 8 patients with vulvar dystrophies, evaluating the application of adipose-derived stem cells directly into the affected areas, with follow-up of up to 2 years. After two treatments over a 3-month period, the authors documented significant improvement in vulvar trophism, along with a clear reduction in pain.

The treated tissue showed better appearance and better quality, with less discomfort, less dryness, and an intimate life less limited by pain. If these symptoms are part of your everyday life and you feel that standard approaches have not given you the relief you expected, this may be a good time to speak with a specialist and assess whether an option like this could help you.

The image shows the pre-treatment condition: epidermis with mild parakeratotic hyperkeratosis, along with ectatic capillaries, a dermis with a sclerotic appearance, and the presence of inflammatory infiltrate. Taken together, these findings are consistent with tissue showing altered trophism and local inflammation, as described in the clinical report.

Post-treatment histology (Hematoxylin-eosin, ×10).

At follow-up, the photomicrograph shows the changes reported by the authors: reduced dermal sclerosis, less dilated capillaries, and a markedly decreased inflammatory infiltrate. These histologic findings accompany the clinical evolution described, reinforcing an improved tissue environment in the treated area.

Sexual Dysfunction

Enjoying your intimate life again can become a real possibility

When sexual activity decreases and satisfaction no longer feels the same, it is common for doubts, frustration, and a real impact on quality of life to appear. Liem Nguyen Thanh and collaborators published a phase I/IIa clinical trial in Stem Cell Reviews and Reports (2021), with a 12-month follow-up in 31 people—15 men and 16 women—with a history of reduced sexual activity, evaluating the intravenous administration of a cellular component derived from autologous adipose tissue at a dose of 1 million cells per kilogram. During the study, no severe adverse events were recorded after administration, and all participants reported a better perception of their sexual satisfaction after the procedure.

This study showed an encouraging initial signal: participants reported feeling better in their sexual life and, in men, temporary hormonal changes were also observed alongside that improvement. If this issue is affecting your well-being today, discussing it with a specialist may help you assess whether an alternative like this could make sense for you.

Genital Rejuvenation

Restore hydration, elasticity, and intimate pleasure

When you notice dryness, discomfort, or changes in sexual response, it is easy for confidence and intimate well-being to be affected. Cihantimur and collaborators, from Estetik International Quasar Clinic (Turkey), published a study in Acta Scientific Medical Sciences (2021) on a genital rejuvenation technique based on the co-injection of cellular fractions derived from adipose tissue. The procedure was applied to the clitoris, periurethral area, vaginal mucosa, and G-area in 40 women evaluated through the VHI (vaginal health index) and FSFI (female sexual function index).

The results showed significant increases in elasticity, vaginal pH, and moisture at 3 and 6 months, and one of the evaluated parameters continued to improve at month 9 as well. In addition, the sexual function questionnaire showed improvements in orgasm, satisfaction, and pain scores during the first months of follow-up.

The vaginal tissue evaluated showed better quality, and several women reported feeling more comfortable and satisfied in their intimate life during the observed period. If these changes feel familiar to you, speaking with a specialist may help you assess whether this type of approach could be explored in your case.

Where do the stem cells come from?

We use allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells derived from human umbilical cord tissue. This cellular line has demonstrated a high anti-inflammatory, regenerative, and signaling capacity, without causing rejection or immunologic side effects.

In specific cases where the medical team considers it necessary, we may also use autologous cells extracted from the patient’s own adipose tissue.

This protocol is indicated for people experiencing:

  • Hormonal changes due to age, menopause, or andropause
  • Loss of sensitivity, dryness, or intimate discomfort
  • Decreased sexual function, libido, or desire
  • Low testosterone production (in men)
  • A desire to improve intimacy, confidence, and sexual quality of life

How is the procedure performed?

Treatment varies depending on gender and clinical needs:

In women, the application is local, in the intimate area, through an outpatient procedure that promotes tissue regeneration, increases elasticity, improves lubrication, and reduces discomfort such as dryness, burning, or loss of sensitivity.

doi.org/10.1155/2016/2561461

In men, the application is intravenous, allowing for a systemic effect that stimulates natural testosterone production, improves erectile function, and enhances sexual desire.

doi.org/10.1007/s12015-021-10196-w

The infusion lasts approximately one hour, is performed under a clinical protocol with anesthetic support, and the cellular dose is calculated according to the patient’s weight and profile.
